For #GDSC5 we are partnering with the University Hospital Bonn to create an AI solution that will help eliminate River Blindness. Working towards reducing the burden of River Blindness on the world's poorest people. River Blindness is one of the most neglected tropical diseases, impacting more that 20 million people. This hackathon in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), is your chance to showcase #AI4Good while networking and learning emerging technologies with other Data and AI professionals.

#GDSC5 Challenge is aimed at using AI to provide a solution that will automate the current time intensive, manual evaluation process involved in the clinical trials of River Blindness disease. Our solution will save years of work and immensely speed up the availability of new treatments to patients afflicted by this illness.
The goal of the challenge is to detect worm sections in microscopic nodule images.
